Act 1 #3

You can't have power without making dangerous enemies

My topic is you can't have power without dangerous enemies. I think this is a very true statement because I have seen examples of it. There is never perfection in the world today. There has to be enemies when you gain power. Even people without power have enemies. The people who have power in this statement are probably the political leaders and rich people. They have the power to control a country or a business so they are powerful. The reason why there are enemies is because of either jealousy or hatred.

The first example of you can't have power without making enemies is of a new president for a country. Some people don't agree with the things he's doing to the country. So a group of people decided to assassinate the president. They paid a person a few hundred thousand dollars to kill the president and made it look like an accident. Then later there was another election for a new president that most people liked.

Another example is of a rich business man. He is doing very well in his business and making millions of dollar. A competitor is very angry because he is not doing as well and thinks the rich business man is stealing his business. He later hired a spy and sends him in to work at the business man's company. The spy collected data and secrets about the company and then reports back to the competitor. The competitor used the data and secrets to make his product better and later surpassed the business man.

Last example is about a king living in his kingdom. The king is always lazy, he orders people around to serve him and never do anything good for the kingdom. The kingdom's finance isn't going well and they are an easy target for attack from other kingdoms. His people are tired and angry of serving him because he shouldn't deserve all this. The people have decided to overthrow the king. They put sleeping pills in his drink and at midnight they went in his room and slit his throat.

I think this kind of situation won't really happen in real life. The situations I have seen all came from books. You don't see people getting killed for having power in real life. Although there will still be people that have hate toward the powerful people. But if the people are using their power correctly, there won't be as many people that have hate towards them.
